Post 2: Why did I choose this career?

When I was a child I always enjoyed going to the dentist (I even liked the smell in the office) and I was interested in the health field.

At the time of applying for a career I really only had in mind Odontology, I knew that was what I wanted to study.

I have always felt that the smile is a very important part of the image of each person and that if you dont feel good with your smile your self-esteem can decline, besides that the way to develop with people is not the same as if you had de confidence to speak, laugh, smile, etc. That is the main reason why I wanted to study this career.

The university has been difficult, the academic load is very high and the fact that it is remote makes learning difficult. In spite of this, I have like it a lot, especially in the courses in wich we see specific things of the carrer.

At the moment I don´t know what kind of job I would like to have, but I do know that I want to help people while I´m doing it. I think I would not like to have a job dedicated to research, insted I would like to be face to face with the patient and be able to help him/her as soon as possible.

Post 1: Who am I?

I´m María Eliana, I was born in the summer of 2001 in Santiago de Chile. I studied Chemestry and Pharmacy for two years but I was not very keen on it so i decide to study Odontology. I´m in my freshman year but I can already say that i love it.

My family supported me rigth away when I told them that I wanted to change my carrer. We are a big family, there are eigth of us: my parents, my four sisters, my brother and I. I don´t live with all of them, just with my big brother in a appartment.

If I had to talk about a hobby, I would say that I like to dance, I learned to dance salsa when I was in high school. When I entered the university I continued dancing salsa and I learned a little bit of bachata, but because of the pandemic I haven´t done it for a long time.

Post 4: Time travel to the past or future

It's funny that this is the topic of this week's blog, I was recently asked this very question by my older brother. Honestly I would...
